Castello di Vincigliata Summary
This castle built in the year 1031, was sold and gambled before it eventually went to rack and ruin. Then, in 1840, Lord John Temple-Leader came upon the overgrown ruin and instantly fell in love with it. Deciding that the castle was the perfect place to host his many noble friends, he began the restorations. In true renaissance spirit, he commissioned masons, artisans, sculptors and glass-makers, with their help, Castello di Vincigliata was reborn.
Weddings
Today, Castello di Vincigliata is one of the most romantic and beautiful wedding venues in the region of Florence. So it is the ideal place for celebrating your special day plunged among the rolling Tuscan hills. In keeping with its history of entertaining, the Castle has many locations from which to celebrate your wedding. Our favourite is the romantic courtyard with gardens that create the perfect atmosphere for an alfresco reception.
First, you can begin with welcome drinks on the terrace, then exchange your vows on the lawn and finally celebrate afterwards with a romantic dinner in the Courtyard surrounded by candles and torches. After dinner, the garden is the perfect place for dancing late into the night, with stars overhead and a marvellous view of Florence.
The Castello di Vincigliata has been hosting events of all sizes for many years. For this reason, they have an expert team, at their disposal and every contact to make your day truly spectacular. From vintage Italian cars and renowned photographers to makeup artistry and fine dining. It’s all available here.
Accommodation
Castello di Vincigliata is a venue only, yours for the duration of your celebrations. Keep in mind, no accommodations are available here, and so, we would recommend that you and your wedding guests stay at one of the many lovely hotels in nearby Florence. We are happy to make suggestions and recommendations.
