Castello di Meleto Summary
Have you ever dreamed of marrying in your very own castle with massive stone walls, mysterious dungeons, the echoes of ferocious battles and passionate love-affairs that took place centuries ago? Well, at Castello di Meleto your childhood dream can become a reality.
The Castle
From your first glimpse, the vast Castello di Meleto will take your breath away. Dating back to the 11th century, this impressive castle stands, centre stage, amidst the beautiful Chianti Valley. The Tuscan hills extend as far as the eye can see, the scent of Cypress trees hangs in the air and the sounds of nature ring out loud and clear. What’s more, Castello di Meleto produces an excellent Chianti, that you can enjoy after visiting the castle’s old cellars.
Accommodation
Once reserved for the noble families of Tuscany, Castello di Meleto now opens its doors to welcome you. In the castle itself, you’ll find six rooms, ideal for the Bride and Groom and the bridal party. A further four double bedrooms located in the ‘Casa Canonica’ and we think that these would suit the parents and grandparents of the Bride and Groom. Guests of the castle and the canonica can gather for breakfast at the historic kitchen, in front of the massive medieval fireplace. What better way to start the day?
Within the sprawling grounds, you’ll find many additional villas (known as farmhouses but really, they are no such thing) for your extended wedding party. To give an example, Villa Massellone is a detached house on one level. Accommodating up to 6 people, and consists of a living-room with kitchenette, three spacious bedrooms, 2 of which have an en-suite bathroom, air-conditioning and satellite TV. Thus, Castello di Meleto does offer a hamlet for hire!
Weddings
At Castello di Meleto there is an array of venues from which to choose. We love the entire ‘Piano del Castello’ a series of frescoed rooms furnished with style and grandeur. You may prefer the garden or the splendid terrace overlooking the Chianti hills. Others, fall in love with the old stables. If you struggle to choose, then use them all! Host a different event in each of the locations and delight your guests, time and time again.
