We are smack in the middle of the most unchartered territory when it comes to COVID-19 Corona Virus and wedding travel. Although we don’t know when the end is in sight, we can certainly help you navigate the rough waters right now. We want to get you on those fantastic beachfront, spas and incredible sites and scenery as soon as possible. We know it’s hard to sift through all the plethora of information coming your way these days. What we do know is that the Corona Virus is increasing by the day in the UK, and it’s looking more like later than sooner when we can get you all on those well-waited flights to paradise. Within the UK and couples worldwide, we are here to help with information as best we can as it comes in. Our travel suppliers, resorts and airlines are all working extraordinarily hard daily to continue to update us. We, in turn, are here to see how we can then best assist with your wonderful destination wedding plans.
Seek Advice From Your Trusted Travel Expert, it’s your Your Best Call to Action
What we as travel agents know at this time is there have been unprecedented calls to action by airlines, resorts and other additional travel suppliers to assist present and future wedding group travel. They have changed the rules in regards to postponements, cancellations, basically working every which way they can to help alleviate stress from holiday wedding travellers as well as travel agencies. Policies that were in place last week have already changed this week as the travel industry sifts through unchartered waters. The travel landscape is changing minute by minute it seems. Guests who are already in the destination, as well as those about to travel, are receiving immediate assistance from agents. This has caused some delays in agents’ abilities to respond with up to date information. Our best advice is to be patient, but of course. Ensure your travel agent is keeping you up to date with the latest developments in wedding travel as they come in.
Save the Date Yet Over Again!
Trust me, the last thing a travel agent wants is to have to rebook your destination wedding. We appreciate how long you have been waiting, needless to say how long you have been working with your treasured guests to get them to your wedding destination. With no relief insight as to when you can depart, what do you say to your guests at this time? Our best advice is to discuss alternative wedding dates with your travel agent. If you can travel with your group later this fall and winter, I would highly recommend trying to rebook that trip now. Pending weather and wedding options in your destination wedding region of choice a wedding early next year may be preferable. Keep in mind other couples have booked weddings this fall and next year already in popular destinations so you’ll want to act fast.
One can only hope that the COVID-19 Corona Virus has hit the road by early summer, and we can all go back to planning dream destination weddings. When changing the date, we suggest discussing with close family and friends first. Then based upon confirmed numbers, send out a notice to your guests to inform them of the changes. Your travel agent can assist with great options to get you booked and set again for your wonderful holiday away.
Its Time to Make That Move
Once the new dates have all been hashed out, its time to get that new date booked. Of course, your travel agent will check those dates for wedding availability at the resort, hotel or venue you have chosen. My best advice is to make this a priority just again because of all the regular bookings already made by couples for popular destinations. It may take a bit longer for your agent to get you all the flight information and resort information due to the unprecedented issues with airlines and resorts right now, accommodating passengers. Generally speaking, October and November are good pricing times for areas such as Mexico and the Caribbean. If you are marrying within Europe, then of course weather, options for flights do become more of an issue that way. Have your travel agent check all these options and go over these in detail with you, so you have all the information you need to make the best date decision for your wedding group.
Be Re-Assured, Relax and Most of All Try and Stay Positive.
There is no doubt our beautiful wedding couples, along with all wedding couples out there are facing disappointment in these uncertain times. Its one of the most important days of your life and the excitement and the wait is difficult to turn around at this time. We know there not only the disappointment of a cancelled or postponed wedding but all the in’s and outs of informing guests and changing dates. This is where we can be of great assistance. Don’t be afraid to rely on your travel agent at this time to help you navigate through your options with your guests. We have a lot of experience in these things; airlines cancel flights, resorts change suppliers and on and on. We are knowledgable and care deeply about your destination wedding group. We sympathize, we understand, and we are here for you every step of the way.
Sandy Beaches, Blue Oceans, Iconic Castles and Picturesque Vineyards
No matter how difficult these times know that things will turn around sooner than later. Your family and friends understand, they feel for you and want to help. It’s only a matter of time before this COVID-19 virus is tackled to the ground and done with. It seems like its’ forever way with all the gloom and doom amidst us, but we will get through this just as we have with other viruses and other travel issues over the years. Airlines are taking extraordinary steps to sanitize planes. Resorts are stepping up with fantastic protocols in health and safety. It’s hard to think about silver linings in times like these. However, if there is one, it’s that we will travel the cleanest ever once this is over. The beaches will be there, the lush, tropical palm trees, rolling hills and vineyards, iconic castles and all the dreams a bride to be imagines.
